A court of appeal hearing over a December 2012 fraud judgment against Russian businessman Yuri Nikitin and his associates opened at London’s High Court this week in what is now a nine-year legal battle centred on SCF Group newbuilding deals.
However, the current two-week case will not be the end of the legal action.
TradeWinds understands that another hearing is tabled for late July in front of Justice Andrew Smith, who heard the prominent case brought by SCF — then called Sovcomflot — associate Fiona Maritime against Nikitin and other key Russian figures several years ago.
