DHT management struck a deal to buy the 309,000-dwt Synergy Queen (built 2010) for $79m from Japan’s Nissen Kaiun but it was subject to approval by the DHT board of directors comprising Erik A Lind, Robert N Kowen, Einar Michael Steimler and Rolf Wickborg. TradeWinds understands the board has rejected the purchase.
Brokers say the ship’s value has not changed much since the preliminary purchase deal was done.
