Private Norwegian shipowner Island Offshore has taken delivery of its latest extreme-niche vessel, which is set for a five-year contract in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM).

Delivered by Ulstein Verft as one of Ulstein Design’s SX 121 configurations, the 130-metre Island Performer (built 2014) is primarily focused on deepwater (DW) riser-less light well intervention (RLWI) down to water depths of 3,000 metres but is also suited for work within the subsea sector for inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR).
