Sentiment among shipowners with VLCC tonnage is bullish despite a slowdown in market activity and some tactical action from charterers, brokers say.
They point to the period charter of the NS Lemos-controlled, 318,683-dwt Spyros (built 2007), which is understood to have been fixed to US charterer Mjolner Shipping for 12 months at $25,000 per day.
One describes the vessel’s owner as “canny”, explaining that he normally gets the call on the market “about right”.
