Jakarta-based tanker player Soechi Lines is said to have picked up the Dr Peters-controlled, 33,500-dwt chemical/products tanker Cape Bear (built 1997) for $9m.

The epoxy-coated vessel was the subject of sales rumours back in April, when it was said to be in the process of being sold to undisclosed interests for $7m.

Soechi has been an aggressive buyer of relatively modern tanker tonnage in recent years and today operates a fleet of 35 crude, products, chemical and gas tankers ranging in capacity from 3,000 dwt to 300,000 dwt.
