Shipowner Torm has responded to a mooring accident that seriously injured one of its crew members on the 47,000-dwt products tanker Torm Republican (built 2006) while the ship was in Bilbao, Spain, in December last year.
According to an accident report by the Danish Maritime Accident Investigation Bureau (DMAIB), Torm immediately issued a safety flash to the fleet and followed that up with an internal safety-management audit — the results of which were shared by the entire fleet.
