Signal International is fighting a judgment in a dispute over insurance payments linked to the sinking of a massive floating drydock.
The US shipyard group, which accommodates up to panamax-size ships in its shiprepair facility, has asked the Second Circuit Court of Appeal in New York to overturn the decision that will see Alterra Excess & Surplus Insurance Company, known as Max Specialty Insurance at the time the dispute started, collect $3.98m.
