GDF Suez set to begin LNG ship search in coming weeks

French company expected to emerge for newbuildings once Sempra decides on Cameron project in US Gulf

GDF Suez has given early indications about its upcoming LNG shipping requirement to lift volumes it is buying from the US.

TradeWinds understands the company has told shipbuilders it is likely to go out to the market for newbuilding tonnage after Sempra Energy takes a final investment decision (FID) on its 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) Cameron LNG production project in the US Gulf.
