American Commercial Lines (ACL) has hit another roadblock in its efforts to limit its more than $70m clean-up bills from the 2008 oil spill that followed a collision between a barge and a Swedish-controlled tanker.
The US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has upheld a decision by a lower-court judge who dismissed the tug-and-barge owner’s claims against contractors Environmental Safety & Health Consulting Services and United States Environmental Services.
