The restructuring of Israeli container line Zim shows that even the most complex of cases can be resolved outside the walls of a bankruptcy court.

That was a takeaway this week from Evercore Partners banker Mark Friedman, whose firm advised Zim in an 18-month process that is said to put the line back on a solid footing in the marketplace.

“I think this has to be the most complex restructuring I’ve been a part of,” Friedman said.
