The newbuilding backlog for very large gas carriers (VLGCs) has increased with two more ships booked by a Chinese company.
Tianjin Southwest Maritime (TSM) has ordered the 83,000-cbm ships at Jiangnan Shipyard, taking its newbuilding tally there to five, according to sources.
TSM is said to have signed up for the VLGC duo at the end of June and is paying more than it paid for its previous three ships contracted between September and early this year.
