Court records show the company has reached an agreement in principle to dismiss the case but the amount of the proposed settlement has not been disclosed.
However, the stakes are high. Last week TradeWinds’ online news service reported that rival Matson has agreed to pay $9m to settle its share of claims in the same lawsuit. The Hawaii owner said the settlement was not an admission of liability.
