Singapore-based Nova Shipping & Logistics is beefing up its involvement in the products/chemical tanker market with an order for up to six ships in China.
Sources say it has ordered two 34,500-dwt IMO-II newbuildings at China’s Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering Co, with options for four more, split two plus two.
The ships, scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2016, are said to be costing Nova in the mid-$30m range, although some players put the price at $30m each.
