Officials at the Chittagong-based company say it is looking to acquire a couple of bulkers, including a supramax, by the end of the year.

They say that with coal imports expected to rise to as much as 20 million tonnes annually over the next five years from the present level of three million tonnes, the company is targeting long-term transport contracts with domestic traders and is looking to purchase Japanese-built ships of around 10 years to 15 years old.
