Seven members of the Deiulemar clan are preparing to appeal against lengthy prison sentences.

The move comes after a criminal court in Rome pinned the blame for Deiulemar’s bankruptcy on asset-stripping by family members.

On 11 July, seven members of the Della Gatta, Iuliano and Lembo families were handed terms amounting to 86-and-a-half years, with the longest sentences going to brothers Angelo and Pasquale della Gatta, who were served with 17 years and two months.
