Pre-tax profit increased slightly last year to NOK 38m ($6.1m) from NOK 37m in 2012, while operating income was unchanged at NOK 303m.
On the shipping side, Hesnes is involved in the car-carrier and bulker business. It runs Saga Forest Carriers, which operates 29 open-hatch bulkers held by Saga Shipholding, a Norwegian company owned by Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Line, in addition to three open-hatch bulkers owned by Hesnes.
