Trader E.ON has nudged back a deadline for technical proposals on up to two LNG carriers.

The German company was due to receive offers at the end of July but has delayed this submission date until the middle of this month, industry sources say.

They indicate that this latest pushback relates to E.ON’s ongoing negotiations with Japan’s Osaka Gas Co.

The trader is trying to finalise a deal to buy 800,000 tonnes of LNG from the volumes already secured by the Japanese utility from the Freeport LNG project in the US.
