Two of China’s biggest importers of soybeans are taking very different stances on the shipping sector they are planning to join.

Both are state-owned companies and major producers of livestock feed and cooking oil.

But one is waiting for newbuilding prices to sag before it places its first-ever order for two or three kamsarmaxes, while the other hopes to sell up to six of the kamsarmaxes it has on order at significantly improved levels.
