Distressed deal specialist Borealis Maritime is set to more than double its boxship fleet with the purchase of nine vessels from Commerzbank.
Borealis was this week understood to be putting the finishing touches to a transaction that has caused some upset in Hamburg after the German bank overlooked local brokers and selected London-headquartered Clarksons to handle the sale.
TradeWinds reported last week that the 1,100-teu to 2,500-teu vessels had gone to a mystery owner after becoming the latest targets in the bank’s acceleration of shipping-asset disposals.
