Nasdaq-listed Star Bulk says is paying $634.91m in cash and shares for the Excel Maritime vessels in a deal that will take its fleet to 103 units.
The incoming Excel Maritime fleet comprises 10 capesizes averaging 10 years of age, 14 kamsarmaxes with a mean age of 8.4 years, as well as 12 panamaxes and two handymax vessels with an average of 17 years.
