UK-listed Ophir Energy is rumoured to have selected a partner for a planned 2.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) floating LNG (FLNG) production project in Equatorial Guinea.

Companies involved in the FLNG arena suggest Excelerate Energy is the hot candidate to walk off with the business.

The US regas specialist and wannabe FLNG player, partnered with Samsung Heavy Industries, and Malaysia-listed Bumi Armada teamed with Keppel Shipyard, were named by the government in Equatorial Guinea as the two companies shortlisted by Ophir for the business.
