Well-placed sources name the fast-growing Korean owner as the buyer of Sinokor Merchant Marine’s 172,000-dwt Silver Pioneer (built 2002). The NKK-built bulker was reported sold last month for $31.7m to $32m.
A source close to the deal confirms the acquisition, adding that Glovis will rename the vessel Glovis Ambition.
Meanwhile, the company is said to have paid $53.5m for the 8,000-ceu C Ladybug (built 2011).
