Algerian state-run shipping company Hyproc has selected Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) as the preferred shipbuilder to construct up to three LNG carrier newbuildings worth more than $600m.
The company, which is controlled by energy giant Sonatrach, is expected to ink a deal by the end of this month for two 170,000-cbm dual-fuel diesel-electric (DFDE) vessels with an option on a third, shipbuilding sources indicate.
