Five shipowners have filed claims in US courts and London arbitration against Chinese charterer Dalian Suntime International Transportation in less than two months.
The nearly $4.99m in lawsuits and arbitration claims accuse the Dalian-based outfit of failing to pay hire and bunkers on six separate bulker charters in the past few months, according to legal records.
TradeWinds has already reported some of the allegations, particularly a twice-filed lawsuit by an affiliate of Eagle Bulk Shipping, — but others have only just come to light.
