Shipowners have offered LNG carriers to Shell for a long-term requirement floated by the energy major last month.
Industry sources say Shell has asked for validity on the bids until the end of October.
Shell went out to the market last month seeking LNG carriers for both short and long-term time charter.
On the long-term requirement, the major specified a hire period of between five and 10 years on the basis of delivery in the third to fourth quarters of 2017.
