Lloyd’s Register (LR) marine global strategic marketing manager Luis Benito says proposals for the new notation have been submitted to the classification society’s technical committee and will, hopefully, be ratified at its annual meeting in November.
Under the plans, ships would be allocated a “GR” notation signalling they are gas ready, with a series of associated characters to be added to detail the level of preparedness.
