Ancora ends run of sales with first buy of the year

Ancora Investment Trust of Greece has made its first vessel purchase this year, industry sources say.

The company is linked to Italian owner Ottavio Novella’s STX-built, 37,000-dwt products tanker Sipea (built 2007), which is said to have changed hands for $18.2m. Neither Ottavio Novella nor Ancora replied to requests for comment before TradeWinds went to press.

The Sipea would be the youngest vessel in Ancora’s fleet.

To date this year, the company has been a seller of tonnage.
