The Mumbai-listed owner has booked two 34,000-dwt ships at Hakodate Dock Co for delivery in 2016 and 2018, market sources say.
Chowgule has not revealed a price for the newbuildings but TradeWinds is told that similar-size bulkers are currently priced at $27m each, which is in line with what German owner Johann MK Blumenthal paid for its vessels at the yard this month.
