Liquimar set to sell oldest ship

Liquimar appears to be selling its oldest and smallest ship, the 46,000-dwt products tanker High Nefeli (built 2003), with brokers saying it has gone to compatriot owner Benetech for $15m.

A Liquimar executive declines to comment and Benetech denies it is the buyer.

The High Nefeli was Liquimar’s first newbuilding and has been in its fleet since it was delivered.

The company now has six tankers — four suezmaxes and two long-range-two (LR2) products tankers — trading.

The owner declines to comment on the status of its three 320,000-dwt tankers ordered at South Korea’s STX Offshore & Shipbuilding in 2008 for a full $150m, with delivery set for 2010 and 2011.
