California’s port of Stockton has followed up its popular webcam that offers live online viewing of two barn owl nests with streaming footage of something a little more fundamental to its own operations.

Now worldwide fans of the US’s 55th busiest port can watch the ships that call there 24 hours a day.

A report in local newspaper The Record explains that “ShipCam” allows web users to see vessels enter and exit the port, witness dockers at work and watch cranes loading or unloading ships.
