One of the final obstacles to Meyer Werft’s takeover of STX Finland’s cruise business has been cleared after Germany’s Federal Cartel Office in Berlin, or Bundeskartellamt, gave its approval for the deal.
In a statement, the Bundeskartellamt noted that the cruise shipbuilding business will become even more concentrated between Meyer Werft, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, STX France and Fincantieri following the takeover.
