The Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association has been given an “A” rating by Standard & Poor’s (S&P) in its first interactive assessment of the protection-and-indemnity (P&I) club.
The ratings agency makes a positive assessment of the oldest of the P&I clubs, judging its capital adequacy to be above the “AAA” benchmark.
S&P says the Britannia Club’s competitive position and business risk profile is strong, while its financial risk profile is very strong.
