Costa has become the subject of intense scrutiny after several highly publicised fires and collisions culminated in the dramatic sinking of the Costa Concordia off an Italian holiday resort island. Actions by Costa don’t seem to be helping matters either.
Take, for example, an incident that recently occurred on board its 113,000-gt Costa Fascinosa (built 2012). The ship took a huge lurch that sent passengers and furniture tumbling across the deck when it was hit by high winds shortly after departing Venice.
