Judge KR Shriram last week ordered the 16,200-dwt cargoship Meem (built 1986) to be auctioned by the end of this month.
The court ordered the ship’s arrest in August following an Admiralty suit filed by the Bank of Sharjah, which held a mortgage against it.
The exact amount of the mortgage is not revealed in the court order, although court documents say the vessel had been valued by Mumbai-based Ericson & Richards.
