Mumbai-based offshore brokers say some 20 companies are in the race to supply six 1,500-dwt offshore support vessels (OSVs) and nine 3,000-dwt platform supply vessels (PSVs) with dynamic positioning (DP) and firefighting (FiFi) facilities.
ONGC is expected to hire the vessels for three years for use on its east and west coast blocks.
Sources say newcomers including Mumbai-based Epsom Shipping, Raj Shipping, KNK Ship Management, Prince Marine and Ocean Sparkle have all put in bids.
