There’s corruption at many of the world’s shipping ports. That’s hardly a secret. It is simply business as usual for many companies. But that may be changing. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) just launched the Electronic Ship Entry Notice (e-SEN), a system that should reduce ship delays and temper corruption. E-SEN now enables ship agents to submit and obtain notification approvals electronically, which should result in greater docking and cargo efficiencies.
