The format of the event was somewhat unusual: a series of workshops and so-called fireside chats by experts instead of the often mundane presentation of papers at conferences that leave delegates looking at their watches.
Not that the venue chosen for the Danish Maritime Forum allowed for a quick exit. It was in a former warehouse some distance from the centre of Copenhagen in a port area undergoing redevelopment.
