The vessel is set for delivery from the Naikai Shipbuilding & Engineering in November.
Some sources claim Oldendorff is paying $26.6m for the handysize, others $24.5m.
An unusual feature of the deal is the swap element, with AEC buying a handysize from Oldendorff, the 37,000-dwt Regina Oldendorff (built 2006), for $16.7m.
The two companies have a history of business dealings, with AEC last year having bought the 31,000-dwt Carl Oldendorff (renamed AEC Diligence, built 2002).
