The 5,908-teu Zante (built 2002) has gone on charter to Hapag-Lloyd for 18 to 24 months at a reported rate of around $15,000 per day.
The vessel, which was acquired by the Embiricos family in 2010, had been in layup in Singapore since September 2013, say brokers.
The owner is understood to have reactivated the vessel in August when it was fixed for a voyage from Shanghai to Piraeus by China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL).
