A US federal judge has issued a judgment against Mexico’s Maritima de Ecologia (Marecsa) confirming a London arbitration win by offshore vessel owner Sealion Shipping.
However, District Judge Katherine Forrest’s order leaves in place part of a New York legal fight between the two companies.
The latest developments come after a London arbitration decision ordering Marecsa to pay UK-based Sealion $3.42m, plus 5% annual interest, in a dispute over charter payments on a well-testing vessel that were alleged to have been fraudulently diverted.
