OPG energy director Sunil Jalan confirms that the partnership with the Noble Group arm ordered the two 64,000-dwt ships a couple of months ago at China’s Cosco Shipbuilding. He did not disclose the price but sources say they are costing around $28m each.
Delivery is expected in early 2017, says Jalan.
TradeWinds is told by Mumbai-based sources that the two parties will invest $9m each in the joint venture.
