Meandros Lines controls just one Halkias bulker, the 149,000-dwt Coppersmith (built 1995), which has again been put up for sale.

The Dalian-built vessel is en route to the Arabian Gulf where it will discharge in November.

Meandros director Stylianos Halkias says “the family is not exiting shipping but simply will concentrate on tankers for now”.

The Coppersmith is due for special survey in January next year and could be a candidate for demolition.
