The 152,600-dwt Ottoman Nobility (built 2005) was last week said to have been sold for $45m to a Dubai-based buyer, possibly Gulf Energy Maritime (GEM).

Osman Gungen says the company believes the vessel to be worth well in excess of the figure quoted.

“She is certainly amongst the best maintained and most efficient suezmax tankers in the market,” he said.

The investment the company will make towards the end of November during the tanker’s second special survey “displays our confidence in her future returns and trading potential”, he says.
