The deal, which was worth from $231m to $234.5m and signalled MISC’s exit from the sector, was initially uncovered in May. In August, Greece’s Empire Chemical Tankers, a company controlled by Leonidas S Polemis, was named as the buyer.

The tankers are MISC’s STX-built A-class fleet of 38,000-dwt IMO type-II/III units — the Bunga Akasia and Bunga Alamanda (both built 2009) and Bunga Allium, Bunga Angsana, Bunga Angelica, Bunga Azalea and Bunga Aster (all built 2010).
