Sources close to the transaction add that a sistership, the 57,000-dwt Nasco Jade (built 2010), is also in the sales queue — but Nasco believes it will gain better prices by offering the ships one at a time.

The sales effort puzzles commercial sources because of its timing and the loss-making price that is likely to be achieved. The ships were acquired as resales from Zhejiang Zhenghe Shipbuilding in the false dawn of 2010 at a price believed to be around $30m each.
