In addition, a project for up to four 50,000-dwt tanker newbuildings at China’s Samjin Shipbuilding for delivery in 2015 failed to materialise earlier this year.
Company president Mikael Laurin says the fleet cannot be allowed to fall below a certain number of ships and, consequently, it has taken more tonnage on time charter to compensate.
