District Judge Michael Shipp, of the US federal court in Trenton, New Jersey, issued the order to seize up to $1.38m in sub-charter hire on the 74,000-dwt Inter Pride (built 2000).
As TradeWinds has reported, Inter Ocean is among several shipowners that have accused Dalian Suntime of failing to pay up on charter hire and bunker costs.
In court papers filed by law firm Holland & Knight, the South Korean company argues that the Dalian City-based charterer inked a four to six-month charter of the Inter Pride at $8,000 per day in June and then stopped paying in September.
