The market for freight, demurrage and defence (FD&D) cover is set to turn more competitive following a revision of terms by the leading insurer.
The UK Defence Club is to seek no general increase at the 20 February renewal of cover and is also to introduce a continuity credit and full fleet discount system.
The move reflects healthy finances and FD&D claims moderating after a big increase following the financial market crisis of 2008.
