Navantia Shiprepairs’s Fene-Ferrol facility has completed the design of an LNG feeder vessel with a capacity of between 3,500 cbm and 7,000 cbm that could transfer product via ship-to-ship (STS) operations.

Esteban Garcia Vilasanchez, the yard’s industrial director, told an industry gathering in Spain this week that the ship would cost EUR 20m to EUR 30m ($25m to $38m).

He added that the yard had also looked at the possibility of converting existing LNG carriers to use LNG as a fuel.
