Norwegian shipowner John Fredriksen has approached yards for more LNG tonnage after recently concluding an order for two vessels at South Korean shipbuilder DSME.
Brokers say Fredriksen has been in talks with Hyundai Heavy Industries for two newbuildings, with options for at least two more. But an order has yet to be firmed up.
If confirmed, the deal would give Fredriksen’s shipping vehicle, Frontline, access to LNG newbuilding tonnage in all of Korea’s top three yards.
